Improvements in and relating to protectors for boots and shoes

Abstract

620,742. Boot &c. protectors. WARD, Ltd., F. D., and WARD, F. Feb. 28, 1947, No. 5793. [Class 17 (iii)] The protector consists of a plate 1, Figs. 1, 6, with attached or integral tubular fixing formations 6, to cut into the leather or like material of a tread piece or sole to locate the two together. The tubular formations form plugged holes in the top piece or sole for the reception of securing elements, e.g. screws. In a modified form the flange 3 can be reinforced or thickened to form a tread portion.
